Aviation Experience and Pilot Licenses
Mr. Hammarback has been a pilot in command of seventy-two different types of aircraft from ultra-light aircraft to turbine powered aircraft, including gliders and helicopters. He has logged flight time in excess of 4,500 hours.

Executive Air Taxi Corporation v. City of Bismarck
A Federal civil rights case alleging that the City of Bismarck, North Dakota has discriminated against a fixed based operator (FBO) on a public airport.
A complex multi-party civil rights case brought under 42 United States Code 1983.
The case involves commercial access and use of a municipal airport by various service providers.
The case has been conducted over a two year period of time, involved over twenty (20) depositions, includes complex motions and is currently on appeal to the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mills v. Oberg, City of Detroit Lakes and Becker County
An Aviation law case involving the wrongful death of a pilot of a light aircraft.
This is a defense case involving a fixed base operator (FBO) who provided maintenance to an aircraft owner.
- The aircraft was subsequently sold and the pilot crashed on takeoff.
- A summary judgment motion resulted in judgment for the defendants.
The case was subsequently appealed to the Minnesota Court of Appeals and finally settled.
Vivatsion v. Blair
A Commercial crop damage case involving allegations that the defendant, an agricultural aviation service provider, had negligently drifted agricultural chemicals on a sugar beet field.
This case was a defense case that ended in a defense jury verdict.
U.S. v. Troftgruben
An Airman defense case involving a certificate action against an aircraft owner/pilot.
The allegations involved illegal operation of an agricultural aircraft in the State of North Dakota.
